News - Lexus LF-A to hit 220mph

It has been a while since we've heard from Lexus and their new supercar. For those of you who have not been following, Toyota announced some time back that they were to produce a Japanese supercar under their Lexus brand called the Lexus LFA. The LFA debuted in concept form at the 2005 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).

It was powered by a V-10 engine displacing less than 5.0 liters, generating over 500 hp (373 kW) and had a top speed around 200 mph (320 km/h). To maintain a near ideal weight distribution a rear transaxle is used and the radiators are mounted at the rear.

When I first read about it, I was like - "Hell yeah! The Supra is back!". But then as details were getting less and less, I realized it turned out to be a supercar which is out of reach of most of us. Nice to ogle at though. Anyway, the latest news is that Toyota were not happy with the 320kph top speed (WTF?) and did some mods to the car, which somehow altered its looks but brought the top speed to 352kph (WWWTTTFFF?). That is courtesy of the LF-A’s front-mid-mounted 550bhp-plus 4.8-litre V10. Click here to read more of the possible final GT-R ass kickin' version.
